A Wealth of Information - really!

Oh Geez, I am really bad at this blogging thing.  I will try to be a bit better.  

As you can see if you have visited lately I have made some changes to the blog.  My awesome Nifty Nappy™ website has some Malware thingy on it that I have tried and tried and tried to get off.  I keep taking it off and it finds a way back on.  I don't know what more I can do.  I am not giving up and I will still try to get my website up and going again.  

I have changed this blog so that now there are no links to my website.  Just information and pictures.  I also have a page in the menu bar with the list of my Cottage Licensees and links to their websites/facebook pages.  This way you can find the people who are making and selling Nifty Nappy™ products right now!   

In the mean time, I want people to have access to all the information so I have been trying to pull it off and put it in other places.  

The Lingo:

• I have moved this to my Facebook page notes, it is simply a crash course in cloth diapering lingo.

• One of my good friends and fellow bloggers, Inquisitive Mom asked if she could make up a pdf of my wool care instructions and information and post it on her blog.  I was happy she wanted to help me get the information out there and to make it downloadable and printable for others.  
• On my Facebook page I have my wool information page and the care of instructions.  
• On my YouTube channel I have a video tutorial to wash and lanolize your woolies.  

FAQ and Answers:

• This list of FAQ is not just specific to my diapers.  It is a basic cloth diapering frequently asked questions and answers.  I think it has been very helpful to many people in trying to decide where to start in cloth diapering.   (on Facebook page) 

You Tube videos:

• This video demonstrates how to snap a front snapping diaper such as the Nifty Nappy™.  
• This video demonstrates how to stuff a pocket diaper.  I used a Nifty Nappy™ Peachy Keen Pocket diaper which has been replaced by the Nifty Nappy™ AI2 diaper.  
• This new born cloth diapering video tutorial shows how to fold a front snapping diaper like a Nifty Nappy™ to fit a newborn.  

As of right now this is what I have pulled off the website.  I have most of the tutorials and information.  If you are a blogger and you have posted guest blog posts by me or you have some of my information on your blog (not linked) I would love to hear from you.  Thanks for being patient while I try to work this out.

Spring is coming up all Woolie!: iCandi Knits review/giveaway

You all know how much I obsess over wool right?  
So did you think this event would be complete without wool diaper covers?  


I found iCandi on twitter!  I love her covers, she makes me aspire to knit! Even though I simply can't do it.  :(  


Who is the mastermind behind your products?  Who is the inspiration?

I am the only knitter and dyer for my shop ;) However, I have to give credit to the wonderful pattern that Mandie of Sheepy Time Knits has created and I am licensed under.
I would say that my inspiration comes from a lot of places, such as outdoors, the clothing fashions for kids, or even a painting sometimes. 

How long have you been selling your product?

I have been open since May of 2009 but making and using soakers for over 2.5 years now. I have been knitting for much longer than that. 

How has your product evolved from the fist time you made it?  Has it changed in design or anything?

I have recently increased the standard hip size for in-stock items, but other than that it has not needed to change. 

What do you love most about your product?  

Where do I begin? I use wool on my own kids and it is my first choice for cloth diaper covers. My favorite benefit from shorties and longies  is that they eliminate  the need for pants or shorts over your diaper. This means you will have less to buy and less work when changing diapers!
What makes your product stand out from the rest?  *brag about it, it is ok!  

Customs! I believe I have made just as many customs as I have in-stock items. My favorite has to be the longies  I embellished for a little boy's first birthday with a mario theme!   Another thing is that I hand dye my own yarn that I use for the soakers I sell in my shop. If you don't see what you are looking for in the shop I can dye you up something! Lastly, I use a lot of different colors with striping or hand dyed yarn. Sometimes it is hard to match up shirts to your wool and I try to make that easier for you by using several coordinating colors. 

  

  

What did I get from iCandi to review?  Oh, the absolute cutest pair of wool shorties!  

I have the cutest little niece ever and she has a fluffy bum...courtesy of her favorite auntie!  :)   Her mommy and daddy are huge SeaHawk fans and so I asked for a pair of shorites with ruffles on the bottom in SeaHawk colors!  

How did they turn out?  

Aren't the colors just amazing?  I love them.  They turned out the perfect colors.  They also are very well made.  I was very impressed with her skills as a knitter.  The changing from one color to another was done seamlessly and that is sometimes hard to find.  My brother-in-law even got kinda excited about them because now his little girl can flaunt SeaHawks colors on game day! 


They fit my little niece really well too.  I asked for a size 3 month and they fit her at 6 weeks, and they still fit her.  So that is a bonus!  

Quite the cutie huh?  -and those shorties aren't bad either!

Today I am Excited!

I have so much to be excited about!  (Now that all the funerals are over and life can move on!)
I get to sew wool covers today!  I love wool!!!!  I am going to sew up all the wool for all the outstanding orders today!  Then they can all ship out hopefully Friday!  Exciting huh?

I am also super excited about my upcoming Review/Giveaways!  Have I mentioned I am having a BIG "Spring Fling" Review/giveaway?  No????  Well I am!  and it is going to be awesome!  I have found some big name things to throw in, but I have also found some awesome little Etsy shops to join HURRAY for WAHMS!!!
Some hints:
crayon rolls, slippers, bags, a custom CD'ing changing pad!, paint, natural toys...  and the list goes on and on!  Really it is going to be fab!    Watch for it the beginning of March!  Exciting huh?

But the most exciting!  I am now a wholesaler!  YIPPEE!  I am super excited!  I will change all the prices in my shop tonight and it will be official!  Isn't that the most Exciting of all?
